A good day to you all! B-)
I know it has been a long time since we met – been busy writing stories, which, miraculously, are being read and enjoyed by some people!
Anyhow, I have some thoughts to put in words, so I shall start off…
Have you ever thought that you’re being treated unfairly? That somebody else is being appreciated for the work that you have done? That this somebody is stupid enough to stoop to such depths?
I do have thoughts like these. I do feel that the world is unfair, but then again, who said that it had ever been fair, right? At such times, I blame Pandora for opening that cursed lid…!! Hilarious, right? I totally know!
But, it does make sense, in a way, don’t you think?
For those of you who are not very familiar with the Greek story: Once upon a time, Earth was a Heaven in itself. Gods roamed among humans and perhaps even mingled with them. Among the humans, there was a young girl called Pandora. One day, a goddess entrusted her with a box, the lid of which was locked firmly. The goddess warned her never to open the box, not even for a peek. However, our dearest Pandora was as curious as a cat. She was willing to wait, though. But, when the goddess did not return for a long time, Pandora’s curiosity began to get the better of her, till one day, she decided to pick up a chisel and break open the lock. She just wanted to have a peek at what the chest held. However, as soon as she opened the lid of the box, all the Darkness in the universe was let out and it spread throughout the planet. The legend concludes that this was how all the hatred and other negative factors in the universe has come into existence.
Now, do you agree with me? It’s OK if you don’t, though.
This is my version, anyway, so please feel free to check sources for the actual story… which might have varied versions…!!
Anyhow, my point is that, there are always good and bad things going on in the universe, not just on Earth, the planet we humans live on. The good and the bad are two sides of the same coin. When you pick a subject that you most love, there will definitely be something about it that will repulse you; perhaps a topic that you don’t like or the lecturer themselves. When you pick a nice, dainty-looking fountain pen to write with, it might either start to leak or you might break its tip, because you don’t know how to use it.
Likewise, when you pick a friend, you no doubt have good reasons for doing so, but that same friend will have a lot of negative points about them that will perhaps repulse you. But, what you have to look for in a friendship is loyalty and love. Again, these two things must be a two-way transaction – you cannot stop being loyal and loving, just because your friend is being so towards you. That would be plain illogical, right? 😀
I know someone with whom I have made friends just because her mother tongue is same as mine. That was two years ago. Even then, somewhere at the back of my mind, a thought did cross, that she may not be a good friend to me. And indeed, she never has been. I mean, she has had sometimes, but her disloyalty outweighs her loyalty. Her own best friend has begun to find relief in her absence.
Every second you spend with the ones you truly love matters; every word you utter in front of them matters. Even those words you utter to common friends, because words have a tendency to leak out.
That’s all lecture for to-day.
See you!! 😉
